Why several photos beat one close-up
A single photo has to answer every question at once: who the character is, what they wear, where they stand and how the light falls. An image-to-video model fills the gaps for itself, and that is where clips drift. Splitting the job across several references gives each answer a source. The face photo keeps the face, the outfit photo keeps the fabric, and the room photo keeps the walls and the lamp where you placed them.
The trick is restraint. More references do not automatically mean a better clip. Five photos that disagree about the colour of the light, or three outfits pulling in three directions, produce a muddle.
