A promo has three beats, not a story
A promo clip is built like a sign: it has to be understood in a glance. Give it three beats, a hook in the first second, a reveal around the middle, and a held final frame the viewer can remember. Each beat is one movement, so a five-second promo has room for the hook and a small reveal, while a ten-second promo can hold the final frame longer.
