What a start and end frame asks of the model
An image-to-video model starts from the photo you give it and invents what happens next. A start pose and an end pose turn that invention into a route. You tell the model where the clip begins and where it should land, and it fills the seconds in between. When it works, the result has a clear arc: a pose, a movement, and a settled new pose.
The route is only as good as its ends. A closing pose that asks the body to cross half the room, or to turn ninety degrees from the opening angle, forces the model to invent a body it has never seen. Keep the two poses close: the same framing, the same light, and a change of gesture rather than of location. Five-second clips hold a route better than long ones, because there is less room for drift.

Six mistakes that break the route
Most failed routes come from the same few habits.
- Poses shot on different days, under different light or with different lenses: the model has to bridge a gap it cannot see.
- Closing poses that ask for a large change of place, such as crossing the room or leaving the frame.
- Two poses in two different outfits. Keep the clothes the same in both references.
- Forgetting which reference is the start. Say it in the prompt: “starts on @Image 1”.
- Fast movement between the poses. Slow it down, or shorten the route to five seconds.
- Thirty seconds for a single route. Long clips drift, so ten seconds is enough for one arc.

The route holds most reliably with one adult in both poses. Two people change the geometry, so keep the pose simple and the framing close.
How far can the pose change?
A seat to a stand, a turn, a lean or a look up. Large moves across the frame are where the body is most likely to warp.
Which length suits a route?
Five seconds holds a route most cleanly, and ten seconds works for one clear arc. Thirty seconds suits only very slow, small changes.
